ABSTRACT PAINTINGS

A concise statement that covers the purpose and direction of my abstracts is hard to formulate. Some are complete observations, created to have a concrete representation to hold onto. Some are only revealed as the paint touches the empty space, a stepping off of the edge into nothingness. Some are pure spontaneity while others are a grinding and a digging at the colors to be revealed. Others may be a visual diary entry, recording a glimpse into a moment in time when things were harmonious, just for an instant. A dream or a puzzle or a hope...the list could go on, it surely will as I have the need to paint. The question is, do you find something here that reaches out to you?
